Are you tired of dealing with itchy skin and unsightly skin outbreaks due to your psoriasis, or eczema? Or perhaps you are unhappy with the appearance of your vitiligo. If this sounds like you, Excimer laser treatments are a great solution! This state-of-the-art laser system was created to specifically treat these skin conditions for a more comfortable and confident you. Our dermatology team is thoroughly trained in how to properly and safely perform Excimer laser treatments, so you can be confident that you are in good hands.

What is the Excimer Laser?

Excimer lasers deliver a beam of UVB light so precisely targeted that only the area needing treatment receives the laser energy.  We use the XTRAC to provide effective treatment of vitiligo, psoriasis, and eczema. This effective and quick treatment has many benefits, including:

  • Targeted, precise treatments
  • Can successfully be used on almost any area of the body
  • Does not cause premature aging or skin thinning like other treatments
  • Convenient and quick

Treatments are completely safe because they only focus on the skin condition. This reduces the risk of thinning of the skin, easy bruising, stretch marks, or premature skin aging.

Who is a Good Candidate for Excimer Laser Treatments?

Patients with mild to moderate vitiligo, psoriasis, or eczema who have not seen good results with previous treatment methods, such as topical creams, oral medications, or injections, can often benefit from Excimer laser sessions. Individuals of all ages and ethnic backgrounds can undergo these treatments. If you are interested in learning if Excimer laser sessions are a good fit for you, contact our office today to schedule a consultation.

What to Expect During an Excimer Laser Treatment?

During your Excimer laser treatment, you will be seated with the treatment area exposed. The special Excimer laser handpiece will be used to target the specific treatment area, delivering the laser light directly into the skin. This laser features the most advanced optical technology on the market, including an adjustable spot size and guiding beam to ensure that the affected skin is precisely targeted, sparing the surrounding healthy skin from exposure.

This treatment is ideal for difficult-to-treat areas, including the knees, elbows, hands, feet, and scalp. Treatment is completely painless and doesn’t require any type of anesthesia. Patients should receive treatment 1-3 times a week for the best possible results.
