HMGS Dermatology is a leader in providing exceptional dermatology care to patients in South Jersey and the Philadelphia region. HMGS Cares is an initiative rooted in our mission to improve human health, extending our impact beyond dermatology to directly support communities in need. Organized by our wonderful leads, HMGS Cares identifies and lends support to local charitable organizations. Each month our kind employees volunteer their time and services in order help out vulnerable individuals.
HMGS Cares is a tangible expression of our commitment to giving back and social responsibility. It is our belief that everyone, regardless of their location or socioeconomic status, deserves the opportunity to live a healthy life. It leverages our positive workplace culture, expertise and resources to create a healthier, more supported world.

Our Impact
Since its inception in 2025, HMGS Cares initiative has:
- Made snack bags for adults going through chemotherapy. The bags with HMGS Cares inspirational words will be disbursed to cancer centers where chemotherapy infusion takes place. Currently, The Unforgotten Haven partners with MD Anderson (Voorhees, Willingboro, and Camden, NJ), Penn Medicine Virtua (Voorhees NJ), Abramson Cancer Center (Cherry Hill NJ), Atlantic Care, Jefferson Comprehensive Cancer (Sewell NJ) Lindenberg Cancer Center (Marlton NJ) Comprehensive Cancer Center, Penn Medicine-Abramson Cancer Center (Philadelphia PA), Fox Chase Cancer Center (Philadelphia PA) Southern Oncology (Vineland NJ) Sidney Kimmel Cancer Center (Sewell NJ) and The Minnitti Center (Mickleton NJ).

- Legacy of Hope, an organization that supports cancer patients and their families. More can be learned at (insert the website here).Planned initiatives later in the fall include book drives for economically disadvantaged children, food drives for local food banks and preparing meal handouts for people with housing instability.
HMGS supported chief resident of dermatology at CMSRU, Erika T, as she raised funds for Legacy of Hope an organization that helps cancer patients and their families. Erika raised over $5,000 for her 24 hour trek up the steps of the Philadelphia Museum of Art. Philly has Rocky, Gritty, and now Dr. Tvedten. information about this charity can be found at LINK







- We are happy to announce our fall HMGS Cares event will support Book Smiles. This organization collects books to promote literacy in underserved populations. We will be collecting used/unwanted books at HMGS Dermatology in designated bins. Bring a book if you would like to help out. Many HMGS patients and employees are voracious readers!
